The Department of Electronics Engineering is a dynamic department of the institute. It was established in the year 1984 with a vision
“To equip our students with the latest technology and implement their ideas to conduct research in selected areas of excellence within traditional disciplines technologically important and relevant to the region and development of nation.”
The department is well equipped with state of art laboratories to give practical training to the students and serve the research needs of the faculty members of the institute. Various laboratories are set up to enhance student’s skills in the fields of Electrical Machines & Measurement, Analog & Digital Electronics, Power Electronics, Embedded Systems, Robotics, VLSI, Analog & Digital Communication, Signal Processing and Neural Network. In addition to these laboratories, the department also has a dedicated PCB manufacturing facility. This enables the students to undertake all in-house projects. The department is practicing outcome based teaching learning strategies by implementing various teaching and assessment tools.
Access to reputed journals in various branches of engineering is available to students and faculty members. The Department has close interaction with industries and Government organizations.
All faculty members are approachable to the students for any of their problems, whether academic or non-academic. The department aims to make students technically sound and mentally strong to face the challenges of the real world.

Advanced Microprocessor LAB - 201
The lab is equipped with Pentium-IV (IBM) and HCL computers with latest software such as Proteus VSM, Turbo Assembler 6.1, Macro Assembler, Embedded C for AVR. All the electronic testing equipment are available, Digital Trainer Kits and Demonstration kits (RAM & ROM), Universal Programmer, Cards for ISA, PCI and different connectors are kept for better understanding of computer architecture. The lab is also equipped with 8085, 8051 and 8086 boards along with ARM Cortex M based Microcontroller boards.
Laboratory courses conducted: Microcontroller and Applications, Microprocessor and Application, Embedded System and RTOS, MEMS Technology.
VLSI Design and Communication Lab - 202
VLSI lab is the department's state-of-the-art lab.This lab is equipped with Dell , HP and HCL intel core i5 computers with software Cadence- University Programs, UG bundle analog and digital FE & BE for UG courses for 20 users. The lab also has an HP Proliant ML10 Server, 8GB RAM, 1 TB HDD, Intel Xeon Processor 3.10 GHz. For Communication related subjects the lab is equipped with a sufficient number of analog and digital communication Trainer Kits, CRO, DSO, Function Generator, Multimeters etc..This Lab also extends support to the third & final year students for their Project Work.
Laboratory courses conducted: Basic VLSI Design ,CMOS VLSI Design, Principles of Communication Engineering and Digital Communication.
Electronics Workshop LAB - 203
This Lab is equipped with a wide range of Testing and Measuring Equipments, Active and passive components and Layout Designing , Programming Software, which helps the students to practice electronics circuit assembly, testing and also provides a deep insight into the world of electronics Hardware Assembly. Students can design Layout for the Circuit diagrams in the CAD software Eagle(PCB layout designing software) and fabricate the PCB for the layout.
This Lab is equipped with PCs (HCLi3/Intel HCL Core 2 Duo 2.83 GHz, 4GB RAM, 500 GB HDD, USB port, HP optical mouse, keyboard, 17’’ LCD monitor), Universal IC Programmer and Universal IC tester , SMD soldering Station MAX8550, various types of Electronic sensors & modules, Keil software for Programming. Students perform their Electronic Workshop project designing, testing and implementation in this lab.
Laboratory courses conducted: Electronics Workshop, PCB Workshop. Lab Facilities – PCB Exposer, Film Exposer, Dip Coat Machine, Etching Tank, Drilling Machine etc.
Digital Circuit Design Lab - 205
Lab is equipped with open source Software’s for digital and analog circuit simulation like Xilink , Pspice , Turbo C , , FPGA & CPLD training kits, Digital measuring instruments, Computer Networks & Advanced Networking Technology open source tool wire shark is available & NETSIM license version for 10 users is available etc. This Lab also extends support to the final year students for their Project Work.
Laboratory courses conducted: Digital Circuit Design, Digitals System Design, Design with Linear Integrated Circuits , Computer Communication Network, Advance Networking Technology.
Power Electronics and Robotics Lab - 206
Laboratory courses on Industrial and Power Electronics are conducted in this lab. The Lab is adequately equipped with Test equipment for Power Electronic Devices & circuits, Various demonstration kits & measuring instruments are available in this lab. This laboratory is equipped with the latest motor drives operational set-ups. VVVF Drives, DC Motor Drives based experiments can be performed .The Solar Panel is also available for studies based on renewable energy.
Basic Electronics Circuit Lab - 209
This lab is equipped with sufficient number CRO, Function Generator, DMM etc. Softwares required for design and simulation of electronic circuits are also available.

Internet of Things Lab - 211
IOT lab is intended to provide all the latest IOT components for related subjects. Also this lab is equipped with IOT components such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, WiFi Model, Zigbee model, bluetooth beacon and IOT simulation software. Power Supply, function generator , Digital Storage Oscilloscope , Digital Multimeter DSP kits etc. .MATLAB R2016 Software 20 user LICENCE
