Head Speaks
Dr. Prakash Pandurang Vaidya
VES Institute of Technology is working on research in various fields of engineering, including Electronics, Instrumentation, and software solutions. Emphasis is given on research projects which are useful for industrial applications. Various research projects have led to design and construction of hardware systems in field of electronics, process instrumentation, nuclear instrumentation, biomedical instrumentation and fibre optic instrumentation. R&D work is being carried out in the field of low power compact designs for portable instrumentation and embedded systems. Important research areas in VESIT include low level signal processing, high speed digitization and data transfer, and high resolution timing spectroscopy to mention a few. Many research projects have been carried out successfully in collaboration with IIT Bombay, Larsen & Toubro, and BARC.
The project entitled ‘Electronic Radioactivity simulator’ has been completed in collaboration with BARC which was funded by BRNS. Another BRNS funded project on ‘Nuclear Data Analysis’ is in progress in collaboration with BARC. Miniature low power portable electronic system has been developed for Rogowski coil signal processing in collaboration with Larsen & Toubro. Many research scholars are utilizing R&D facilities for their Ph. D. and ME work. Their work has resulted in value addition to the R&D lab by creation of more facilities for validation of research work. Various research projects made by Ph. D. and ME students in R&D lab have been recognised and awarded at university and state levels in Avishkar competition. Patents have been filed for the systems developed based on the research work carried out here.
Motto
